WARNING: Visiting this or any other website, or simply searching for terms like “domestic violence” creates a digital trail that cannot be completely erased. This alert informs you of the risks and gives you a chance to decide whether to continue or to leave.

If you would prefer to talk with one of our counselor/advocates on the phone, please call
(814) 438-2675
We offer free and confidential domestic violence support services.

This means we take your right to confidentiality extremely seriously. We will never share your personal information without a written, informed and time-limited consent to release information except in cases like:

  • when the law requires it, such as in the case of mandated reporting of child abuse or neglect
  • to prevent death or substantial bodily harm.

Your safety is very important. We have taken a number of precautions to keep your communication safe while using our site.  However, be aware that no internet communication can be 100% secure.

There is no technology anywhere, and never will be, that can prevent information from being read on a device that has a virus, malware, spyware, etc., installed on it. If a spyware or virus program is able to record keystrokes or take screenshots every set number of seconds, there is nothing that can be done to make this device safe.  Please make sure you are using a safe computer or mobile device when you contact us.

If you think someone may be monitoring your technology, please consider these options:

  • try using a computer at the library, work or borrowing a device from a friend or family member
  • buy an inexpensive, disposable phone to make confidential phone calls
  • change all of your passwords to email, bank accounts and social media sites; or maintain them as decoys and start new ones no one knows about.

If you are seriously considering suicide, you can call the Erie County Crisis Services 24/7 Hotline at (800)300-9558 or the National Suicide Prevention LifeLine at (800)273-TALK (8255) for free 24-hour hotline support.

Minimize your digital trail by using safer devices and browser privacy options. Please, follow the Internet safety page or Internet browsing privacy tips page as soon as it’s safe for you to do so.
