Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

September 20, 2019

walk a mile in her shoes participants

Walk a Mile in Her ShoesWalk a Mile in Her Shoes® at the Corry Parade is the International Men’s March where men literally walk in women’s high-heeled shoes as a symbolic gesture to raise awareness on the issue of violence against women.

Safe Journey is asking men, boys, teams, groups, organizations, businesses, friends and/or families to walk a mile in dating and domestic violence victims’ shoes. This event is a great way for men to demonstrate that violence against women is not okay as you walk on behalf of women, girl & teen victims. You may not be aware that a woman, girl or teen is a victim but they could be someone you come in contact with… they are mothers, daughters, sisters, family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, bosses, girlfriends and spouses.

This is the One Day Wearing Heels Screams “LADIES MAN!!!

It’s not easy walking in women’s high heeled shoes, but it’s fun and it gets the community to talk about something that’s really difficult to open up about. It gives every man and boy a way to take a stand against domestic violence.

THE WALK HELPS RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND IT IS A FUNDRAISER TO SERVE LOCAL VICTIMS.

A $10 donation is requested to help serve our local victims of domestic violence. We will have red shoes available on a first come/first serve basis (they are men sizes). Red footies will be available to wear. T-shirts for the first 50 walkers to register.

Please register by email at mysafejourney@verizon.net or call 814.438.2675.

Preferred registration date by Sept 20, but we will take walkers up to the day of the walk.
